Kanwal Oswal - Transforming Financial Services Through Technology
Financial services technology innovation and operation strategy executive Kanwal Oswal is the managing director of technology at the Bank of Montreal. He leads an engineering team charged with financial platform modernization using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Since 2023, Kanwal Oswal has overseen the cloud migration of critical systems that support B2B portfolio and asset management. This transition has significantly improved system efficiency monitoring, risk management, and customer attendance.
Mr. Oswal worked as the director of corporate and commercial lending technology from May 2019 to July 2023. During the period, he developed cloud migration patterns for transitioning key customer-facing capabilities to the cloud and led data initiatives for regulatory reporting, specifically the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and the FR2052a Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report mandated by the Federal Reserve.
